Leverage Your Leadership
What is it?
For those quantum leaps to occur you must find ways to speed up the time it takes to achieve your goals. You must be ready for opportunities as they arise and be capable and willing to jump on them. For this to happen, you must Leverage Your Leadership.
Why is it important?
Leveraging Your Leadership maximizes the return you give back to organizations for their investment in you. You achieve higher productivity, greater business success and more control over all aspects of your life. When you leverage, you are ready for opportunity in a shorter period of time. And, when you move on, what you leave behind retains momentum and success.
How do you do it?
To Leverage Your Leadership there are four components to master.
- Accelerating teams: When leaders take over a new function they have to produce results early. This means having all the members of the team working at their peak performance.
- Creating integrating management systems: This is orchestrated timing and team work; everything planned out in advance so that the unexpected can be handled and changes made on the fly. A preset schedule of meetings and communications that ensure the team stays focused on the ultimate goals while they are constantly making the adjustments needed to avoid dangers and grasp opportunities.
- Investing in key relationships: Every team has a few key relationships that can dramatically affect their success. However, when conflict arises often a leader is forced to move one person out of the team. This is not only a talent loss but often a significant dollar cost if the person leaves the company. Fortunately, there are ways to invest in critical relationships and enable accommodation or at least early resolution.
- Facilitating alliances: Every function within a company and in your life depends on a complex connection of partners, sponsors, associates and team members where only by working together can success be achieved.
