How Applying Behavior and Motivator Assessments Can Improve Your Life: Assessment Series Part 1
What Secrets Will You Discover About Yourself?
If you’ve been reading the blog or our ebooks, you probably heard us mention the assessment tools we use with clients. This six-part series will dive into why those DISC assessments are such a powerful tool in improving lives.
You might be surprised what the most common phrase we hear is after going over assessment results with a client.
“Wow, You Pegged Me”
It’s also common to hear, “Do you have a crystal ball somewhere?” “Are you psychic?” “Who told you that about me?” To demonstrate the level of detail and to show how someone can see themselves so clearly in the DISC assessment report, I’ll share one paragraph of a 60 page report from my assessment.
Bryce, as a manager, supervisor or group leader can use his people skills to build group involvement and increase participation from the group. He is gregarious and sociable. He will be seen as a good mixer both on or off the job. He places his focus on people. To him,
strangers are just friends he hasn’t met! He likes to develop people and build organizations. He tries to influence others through a personal relationship and many times will perform services to develop this relationship. He is most likely to be at his best in situations where important things, such as values, judgments, feelings and emotions are involved. He prides himself on his “intuition.” He, because of high standards, is sensitive to criticism of his work. Sometimes he does his best work in order to gain acceptance from others. He prefers working for a participative manager. He does his best work in this kind of environment. Mr. Christiansen likes feedback from his manager on how he is doing. He is good at creating enthusiasm in others.
What Makes These Assessments Different?
Part of the reason people feel such a strong connection to the DISC assessment’s report is because of the number of perspectives it shares about you. It is thorough and will tell you:
- How you respond to challenges
- How you influence others
- How you respond to the pace of environment
- How you respond to rules and procedures set by others
- What areas you may be unaware of that are causing stress in your life
- How well your work life style matches your personal life style
- How you communicate, just to name a few.
Now, having all those perspectives does no good if they aren’t accurate, which leads perfectly into the next topic.

that’s quite a deep article, thanks for the tips
Thanks again Farouk.
Another great blog you have. I’m starting to get curious on what personality I have using DiSC tool, thinking will it really shows who am I? I will use these tips you shared with effort. Thank you!
Thanks,
They definitely have helped several of our teams get to know themselves better and how to work better together.
I’m sure you know all about it as well.
Bryce
DiSC is one way of identifying a personality of individual, knowing that you will be able to interact with them, communicate with them easily. Since DiSC gives you an idea of one’s behavior you can cooperate with them which will lead them to do things better. But this doesn’t mean we already judged them.
It’s an OVERVIEW!
